Jean Giraud, aka 'Moebius', has had a huge influence on comics and cinema. Together with the other Titans of sci fi illustration, Chris Foss and H. R. Giger, Moebius was a designer on Jodorowsky's aborted Dune project. He also designed costumes on Tron, influenced the designers of Star Wars and Alien, and his visionary imaginings of the city of the future was copied in Blade Runner and The Fifth Element. This site details an exhibition of his work in Paris and the front page has a very nicely weird interactive illustration.
